He married Gunnild of Dunbar about 1156 in Dunbar, East Lothian, Scotland. Gunnild was born about 1134 in Dunbar, East Lothian, Scotland. Gunnild was the daughter of Waltheof, Earl of Dunbar and Sigrid Or Sigarith.

Uchtred, Lord of Galloway and Gunnild of Dunbar had the following children:

2896 i. Fergus³⁰ Galloway was born in Carrick, Ayrshire, Scotland about 1159. Fergus died September 30, 1185 at age 26.

2897 ii. Lochlan Galloway was born in Carrick, Ayrshire, Scotland about 1161.

+ 2598 iii. Roland of Galloway was born about 1164.
