He married Elizabeth Partridge. Elizabeth was born 1644 in Duxbury, Plymouth Co, Massachusetts. Elizabeth⁽⁸⁸⁴⁾ was the daughter of George Partridge and Sarah Tracy. Elizabeth died 7 August 1722 Chilmark, Dukes, Massachusetts, at age 78. Her body was interred 1722 Rochester, Plymouth, MA.

James Allen and Elizabeth Partridge had the following child:
