229. John⁸ Post (Nathaniel⁹, Samuel¹⁰, John¹¹, Stephen¹², Abraham¹³, Thomas¹⁴, Peter Arnold¹⁵ Van Der Poest, Peter¹⁶ Post, Goosen¹⁷) was born in Norwich, New London, CT December 25, 1726.⁽¹⁷⁷⁾ John died April 10, 1809 at age 82.

He married twice. He married Eunice Backus January 4, 1752/1753. Eunice was born January 19, 1754. He married Abigail Leffingwell June 26, 1757 in Norwich, New London, CT.⁽¹⁷⁸⁾ Abigail was born May 29, 1734 in Norwich, New London, CT. Abigail⁽¹⁷⁹⁾ was the daughter of Samuel Leffingwell and Hannah Gifford. He was a member of the committee to gather supplies for the Continental Army in the Revolutionary War.
