Who Were Amos and William's Parents? The answer to this question continues to elude us.  It is our hope that through the continued sharing of information and through pure stubborn persistence we may one day discover more.  Here is what we do know.  William and Amos' mother was named Mary.  We do not know what happened to Mr. Cook (or what his first name was) but she was left a widow when William and Amos were young.  She remarried to a man named Benjamin Stephens, a Revolutionary War veteran, on 11NOV1824 in Laurens County, GA.  Mr. Stephens was born 10MAR1762 in Onslow County, NC and died 30NOV1837 in Laurens County, GA when William and Amos were about 32 and 28 yrs. old.  Mr. Cook's origins remain unknown as well as Mary's.  Please contact us if you have any information or leads.  email
