2279. Willem I, Count²⁸ Holland (Floris Florence III,²⁹, Dirk Vi, Count³⁰, Floris II, de³¹) was born in S Gravenhage, Zuid Holland, Neth about 1167. Willem died February 4, 1222 at age 54.

He married twice. He married Aleid Countess van Gelre 1198. Aleid was born about 1187 in Zutphen, Gelderland, Netherlands. Aleid was the daughter of Otto I Count Gelre and Richardis Princess of Bavaria. Aleid died February 4, 1218 at age 30. He married Marie, Princess of Brabant July 1220. Marie, was born about 1167.

Willem I, Count Holland and Aleid Countess van Gelre had the following children:

2280 i. Ada, Countess of²⁷ Holland was born in S Gravenhage, Z Holl, Neth about 1202. Ada, died June 15, 1258 at age 55.

2281 ii. Richardis, Countess of Holland was born in S Gravenhage, Z Holl, Neth about 1203. Richardis, died January 3, 1262 at age 58.

2282 iii. Willem, Count of Holland was born in S Gravenhage, Z Holl, Neth about 1206. Willem, died August 30, 1238 at age 32.

2283 iv. Otto, Count of Holland was born in S Gravenhage, Z Holl, Neth about 1208. Otto, died April 3, 1249 at age 40.
