Next, the 1840 census for Lawrence County, Ohio, lists Jacob Bowls with 5 sons: 1 under age 5 1 age 5-9 2 age 10-14 1 age 15-19 Then Jacob and his family are in Scioto County in 1850, and two sons are named: William, age 18, and Robert, age 13. Going back to the 1840 census, we now have... 1 under age 5 - Robert, born abt 1837 1 age 5-9 - William, born abt 1832 2 age 10-14 - John, born 1826 (don't have the second one) 1 age 15-19 - ?? Okay, keep all this in mind, as we jump to the line of George Bowles. Look at these census records: 1860 Federal Census: Ohio, Scioto County, Wheelersburg PO, page 95 household 660/643 George Boles - 36 M, teamster, born VA Lucy Boles - 33 F, born Ohio Harriet E. IF they are brothers, then George is the eldest son of Jacob in the 1840 census: 1 under age 5 - Robert, born abt 1837 1 age 5-9 - William, born abt 1832 2 age 10-14 - John, born 1826 (don't have the second one) 1 age 15-19 - George, born abt 1824 George Bowles has a son named James who was born in Ohio about 1851. IF this is James Bowles who married Catherine Elkins, then we have the link to his parents and grandparents.
